Service Description

Participants will learn how to foster a love of reading and language in young learners. While identifying and explaining the five essential components of reading (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension) and their importance in early literacy development. Participants will walk away with the ability to implement practical, ready-to-use strategies aligned with the five reading components to enhance early literacy skills. That aligns with new strategies with the State of Michigan preschool literacy objectives and assessments, such as Gold and Core. A hour lunch break will be given for participants to enjoy restaurants in the local area.
